Universiti Brunei Darussalam, UBD earned the Merit Award in the Advanced Category for the outstanding project at the International Space Challenge, ISC 2025. The 18th edition of the competition was held in the Republic of Singapore.

With the project, “Reinforcement Learning for Space Debris Avoidance and Capture", it explores the use of Artificial Intelligence to help satellites navigate safely in an increasingly crowded orbit.

UBD was represented by the students and academics from the School of Digital Science and the Faculty of Integrated Technologies. In attendance was Doctor Hazri bin Haji Kifle, UBD Vice-Chancellor.
